I have been breeding shihtzus over fifteen years. A long time friend sold me my very first shihtzu. "Princess" who is still alive and doing well. She became a wonderful friend and companion. Princess is the reason I started breeding Shihtzus. Why shouldn't others be able to enjoy and love this breed? They have great temperments. They are very loyal, giving and loving animals. Their intelligence level is extremely high. Never underestimate the intelligence of a puppy or full grown shihtzu. They will amaze you every single time. I have heard time and again how the pups have "completed families". Hey, I knew that!
WHY BUY A PUPPY FROM A BREEDER?
Good breeders breed to improve the breed. Between care and vet expense, good breeders don't make a profit. Good breeders put thought into their breedings. They find dogs that compliment each other in order to produce puppies that are as close to the breed standard as possible. Good breeders know their lines. Good breeders know their breeds qualities and shortcomings. Good breeders guarantee their puppies to be healthy. Good breeders understand that each puppy they produce is a lifetime commitment. Good breeders are active with their dogs. Good breeders do not let their puppies go to their new home before at least 8 weeks of age, and that depends on the maturity of the individual puppy. Good breeders will invite you to their homes to meet their dogs. Good breeders will provide necessary immunizations and wormings for their puppies before going to their new homes. Good breeders will take back a dog of their breeding if the owner can no longer keep it. Good breeders do not breed dogs when they are too young. Good breeders are present when their female gives birth in order to assist if need be. Good breeders handle the pups every day from birth.
